Description
Jet JWDS-1632 Drum Sander with 406mm sanding width is great choice for small to medium size workshops. Its heavy-duty and innovative open-ended design lets you sand panels and lumber to 812mm width by sanding both ends separately.
Features like Patented Sandsmart™, innovative tool-less parallelism system adjustments and variable-speed allows you to get superior results for any type of wood with ease.
The Patented SandSmart™ system detects unevenness in the surface to be sanded and automatically reduces the feed rate where necessary for areas that may require more gentle treatment. This intelligent system prevents thermal damage and defects and helps to achieve the best possible finish on the surface to be sanded.
Sanding belt is fast and easy to change under 2 minutes without tools. Belt is easy to wrap around the drum and lock-in place with spring-loaded cams. a sanding roll or you can use pre-cut sanding belts.
Including pre-installed G80 sanding paper, conveyor belt, stand and rubber feets.

Great machine. No more worrying about grain direction when making glued panels — you always get precise measurements and a clean tear-free results.
This is a brutally expensive machine, but you get every penny's worth of quality here.
The machine is stable and made of high-quality materials. It was accurate right out of the box and has remained so; i haven't done any adjustments in two years.
Stand is made of thick iron and is sturdy, even though it is not cast iron.
There's no savings in materials.
The sanding belt stays in place well, but it is worth keeping an eye on it when sanding for longer periods. Immediately after changing the belt, it is worth checking the tension of the belt as it will loosen after the first few blocks and in the worst case it may come off.
A sanding belt cleaning block is essential when using this machine and it requires a powerful dust collector to work properly.
If you have a lot of flat surfaces to sand or you make let's say 300 cutting boards a year, don't be a fool—buy this today. Life is too short to spend on sanding with a hand-held sander.
Would I buy it again? Any day.
The drum sander has been in heavy use, the machine is stable and feels reliable. WORKS!!!
