Tappihiomakone eli oskilloiva hiomakone on erikoistyökalu, joka soveltuu täydellisesti kaarevien muotojen hiontaan. Oskilloivassa hiomakoneessa on pyörivä ja pystysuunnassa värähtelevä hiomarulla, joka tarjoaa tasaisen ja tarkan hiomapinnan ilman palamisjälkiä tai uria.

Miksi valita oskilloiva hiomakone?

Oskilloivassa hiomakoneessa on sylinterimäinen hiomarulla, jonka ansiosta se sopii erinomaisesti esimerkiksi vannesahalla tai lehtisahalla sahattujen reunojen siistimiseen.

Hiomarullan oskilloiva eli pystysuunnassa värähtelevä liike vähentää hiomapaperin kulumista, parantaa hiomatehoa ja hiomapinnan laatua.

Kuinka valita sopiva tappihiomakone?

Teho

Useimmille harrastajille riittää kevyempi oskilloiva hiomakone, jonka teho on 400 - 500W. Ammattikäyttöön kannattaa valita tehokkaampi malli, jonka moottoriteho on 750 - 1200W.

Pöydän koko ja säätö

Hiomakoneen pöytä on usein alumiinia tai valurautaa, joista jälkimmäinen tarjoaa paremman tukevuuden. Mikäli koneelle on tarkoitus pyöristää reunoja ja kulmia niin kannattaa harkita sellaista mallia, jossa on kallistuva pöytä.

Hiomarullien valikoima

Tappihiomakoneen mukana tulee useita erikokoisia hiomarullia, joiden halkaisija vaihtelee 6 - 100 mm välillä. Pienet koot sopii hyvin pienten kuvioiden siistimiseen kun taas suuremmat koot sopii paremmin laajojen pintojen hiontaan.
